How to Create and Configure a Funnel in Statistics?
Funnels track user behavior in the bot. They show how clients interact with the bot at different stages of the journey. Funnels help identify at which stage users most often leave interaction or stop.
When Needed
- You need to track user conversion at different scenario stages.
- You need to identify "bottlenecks" in the scenario where users most often leave interaction.
- You need to analyze efficiency of different service stages.
- You need to configure target metrics for tracking.
What's Important to Know
- Funnel — visualization of client conversion by defined stages.
- Target — funnel stage that corresponds to a specific scenario block.
- The funnel displays only targets that were achieved at least once.
- Target position in the funnel corresponds to the display order on the chart.
Prerequisites
You are logged in with supervisor or administrator rights. You have navigated to the Statisticsmodule viaApps -> Statistics. You know which scenario stages need to be tracked.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Creating Funnel
- Go to "Settings" → "Statistics - Settings".
- Go to the "Funnels" section.
- Click the "Add Funnel" button.
- Enter the funnel name (for example, "Client Funnel", "Registration Funnel", "Order Funnel").
- Refresh the page — the funnel appears in the list.
Creating Targets (Stages) in Funnel
- Go to the "Targets" section in statistics settings.
- Click the "Add Target" button.
- In the "Target Parameters" window, fill in:
- Funnel — select funnel from the dropdown list
- Position name in funnel — enter stage name (name can be anything, for example, "Start", "Registration", "Order Placement")
- Position in funnel — specify sequential number (1, 2, 3, etc.), which corresponds to the display order of targets on the chart
- Save the target.
- Repeat steps 2–4 for all stages that should be displayed in the funnel.
Linking Targets to Scenario Blocks
- Go to the "Scenarios" section in the scenario constructor.
- Click on the block that needs to be added to the funnel.
- Select advanced editing of the block.
- In the "Statistics" field, select the needed target from the dropdown list.
- Note that it has the format: "funnel name / target name" (for example, "Client Funnel / Registration").
- Save changes in the block.
- Repeat steps 2–6 for each block that needs to be tracked in the funnel.
Viewing Funnel
- Go to the "Statistics" module → "Funnels".
- Select the created funnel from the list.
- View conversion at each stage and analyze losses.
- Use filters to configure period or other parameters (if available).
⚠️ Important: The funnel displays only targets that were achieved at least once. If a target is not displayed on the chart, it means that none of the users reached this block.
What Happens After
After creating the funnel and linking targets to scenario blocks, the system begins tracking user passage through stages. The funnel is displayed in the Statistics module and shows conversion at each stage, allowing identification of "bottlenecks" and scenario optimization.
How to Verify It Worked
- Check that the funnel is created and displayed in the funnel list.
- Make sure all targets are created with correct positions.
- Check that targets are linked to scenario blocks in the "Statistics" field.
- Test the scenario by going through stages and check that the funnel displays data.
