How to Configure IP Blocking Message?
Configure custom text for the blocking message displayed to users when chat access is restricted by IP address. You can configure text for different languages and add helpful information.

Before You Start
You are logged in with administrator or supervisor rights. You have access to widget settings. The widget is already configured in the system.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Widget Settings
- Go to the Settings module through the menu or directly at
/settings-page. - In the side menu, find the "Bots" section and expand it.
- Select the bot for which you need to configure the blocking message.
- Go to the "Widget" tab.
2. Find Message Configuration Section
- In widget settings, find the "IP Blocking Message" section.
- The section contains fields for entering text for different languages.
3. Enter Text for Languages
- For each language (Ukrainian, Russian, English), there is a separate field.
- Enter your custom blocking message text for each language, if needed.
- If you don't enter text for a language, the system will automatically use the default text for that language.
Example text with support contacts:
- Ukrainian: "Access to chat from this IP address is restricted. If you believe this is an error, contact support at +380 XX XXX XX XX or email support@example.com."
- Russian: "Access to chat from this IP address is restricted. If you believe this is an error, contact support at +380 XX XXX XX XX or email support@example.com."
- English: "Chat access from this IP address is restricted. If you believe this is an error, please contact support at +380 XX XXX XX XX or email support@example.com."
4. Add New Language (Optional)
- If you need to add a message for an additional language, click the "+" or "Add Language" button.
- Select the language from the list of available languages.
- Enter the message text for the new language.
- Save changes.
5. Save Settings
- Check all entered texts for correctness and compliance with your company's style.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Wait for the success message.
How the Message Works
Display in Widget
- When a user from a blocked IP address tries to send a message in the widget chat.
- The system automatically determines the user's language (based on browser or widget settings).
- Your custom message is displayed (if entered for that language) or the default message.
Default Texts
If you don't enter custom text for a language, the system will use default messages:
- Ukrainian: "Access to chat from this IP address is currently restricted due to unusual activity detected."
- Russian: "Access to chat from this IP address is temporarily restricted due to suspicious activity detected."
- English: "Chat access from this IP address is currently restricted due to unusual activity detected."
What Happens After
The blocking message is configured:
- Users from blocked IP addresses see your custom text (if entered) or the default message.
- Text is automatically selected according to the user's language.
- You can update the text at any time through widget settings.
How to Verify Everything Worked
- Check that the text is saved in widget settings.
- Check that the text displays correctly for each language.
- Check message display in the widget for a blocked IP address (if possible).
- Verify that default messages work for languages for which custom text was not entered.
