How to Configure Hot Keys?
Configuring hot keys allows you to change key combinations for quick actions in the operator panel, such as sending messages, creating a new line, and email HTML editor shortcuts.
When You'll Need This
- You need to change the key combination for sending messages (Enter or Ctrl+Enter).
- You need to configure the combination for creating a new line in a message (Shift+Enter or Enter).
- You need separate shortcuts for the HTML editor (email) (send, new line, new paragraph).
What's Important to Know
- Chat message input — send via Enter or Ctrl+Enter; new line via Shift+Enter or Enter.
- HTML editor (email) — three actions (send, new line, new paragraph) must not share the same key.
- Combination conflicts — overlapping keys block Save and show an error above the accordion sections.
Before You Start
You are logged in with administrator or supervisor rights. You have permission to save operator panel settings.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Hot Keys Settings
- Go to the Settings module through the menu or directly at
/settings-page. - In the side menu, find the "Settings" section (operator panel subsection) and expand it.
- Click "Hotkeys" (
/settings-page/op-settings/hot-keys).
2. Use the toolbar (optional)
- In Search settings..., type part of a label to filter accordion blocks.
- Use Collapse all groups / Expand all groups and Show hints / Hide hints to control layout and field explanations.
3. Configure chat hot keys
- Expand Message input hotkeys.
- Under Send key, choose Enter or Ctrl+Enter.
- Under New line, choose Shift+Enter or Enter.
- Enable the Ctrl+Enter send-timeout override if shown and needed.
4. Configure HTML editor (email)
- Expand HTML editor (email).
- Set combinations for send, new line, and new paragraph so no two actions use the same key.
5. Resolve conflicts and save
- If combinations overlap, an error appears above the accordions and Save in the page header stays disabled — fix the conflict in the relevant block.
- Click Save when enabled and wait for confirmation.
