How to Edit a Broadcast Topic?

When you need to change the topic name or update its parameters, editing allows quickly making changes without creating a new topic. This instruction will help update an existing topic.


When Needed

  • Changing the topic name for better understanding of its purpose.
  • Updating the topic's unique alias.
  • Correcting errors in the name or alias.

What's Important to Know

  • Broadcast topic — category that helps group templates and broadcasts by theme.
  • Editing the topic does not affect already created broadcasts that use this topic.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In the Broadcast module, go to the "Broadcast Topics" section — a table with existing topics opens.
  2. Find the needed topic in the list and click the edit icon (pencil) in the row of this topic — the "Broadcast Topic Parameters" modal window appears with filled data.
  3. Change needed fields:
    • "Unique Alias" — if you need to update the technical identifier.
    • "Broadcast Topic Name" — if you need to change the displayed name.
  4. Click the "Save" button — the modal window closes, changes are reflected in the list.

What Happens After

Updated topic information is displayed in the broadcast topics table. All broadcasts that use this topic continue to work with updated data.


How to Verify It Worked

  • Check that changes are reflected in the broadcast topics list.
  • Make sure the topic is still available for selection when creating new broadcasts.
