How to Configure an Automatic Broadcast?
An automatic broadcast is sent according to predefined triggers or schedule without manual intervention. The most common type is a broadcast sent a certain number of hours after a user subscribes to a topic.
When Needed
- You need to send an automatic message after a user subscribes to a topic.
- You need to configure a sequence of broadcasts for new subscribers.
- You need to automate communication with clients without manual intervention.
What's Important to Know
- Automatic broadcast — broadcast that launches automatically by trigger or schedule.
- Broadcast type "hours after subscription" means the broadcast is sent n hours after the user subscribes to the topic.
- The broadcast is sent from 10:00 to 20:00. If the user subscribed after 20:00, they will receive the broadcast at 10:00 the next morning.
- The value in hours cannot be 0.
Prerequisites
You are logged in with operator or administrator rights. You have navigated to the Broadcastmodule viaApps -> Broadcast. There is a created broadcast topic in the system. There is a broadcast template for automatic broadcast in the system.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- In the
Broadcastmodule, go to the "Automatic Broadcasts" section. - Click the "Add Automatic Broadcast" button — a form for configuration appears.
- In the "Broadcast Name" field, select the broadcast template from the dropdown list.
- In the "Broadcast Type" field, select the type (currently only "hours after subscription" is available).
- In the "Hours" field, enter a numeric value — number of hours after subscription when the broadcast should be sent (cannot use 0).
- Enable the "Broadcast Active" checkbox if you need to activate the broadcast immediately.
- Click the "Save" button — the automatic broadcast will be created and saved.
How Automatic Broadcast Works
- The broadcast is sent from 10:00 to 20:00 daily.
- If the user performed necessary actions to receive the broadcast after 20:00, they will receive it only at 10:00 the next morning.
- The value in hours means that everyone who performed necessary actions to receive the broadcast n hours ago will also receive the broadcast.
Example: If 24 hours is set, then all users who subscribed to the topic 24+ hours ago will receive the broadcast during the next launch (between 10:00 and 20:00).
What Happens After
The automatic broadcast is saved in the system and will launch automatically according to settings. Users who subscribed to the corresponding topic will receive the broadcast after the specified number of hours.
How to Verify It Worked
- Check that the automatic broadcast appears in the automatic broadcasts list.
- Make sure all parameters (name, type, hours, status) display correctly.
- Check that the broadcast is active (if you enabled the checkbox).
