Filter Clients by Channel and Broadcast Subscription
The Clients table has two columns that help you prepare a broadcast: Channels shows which channels the client has contacts in, and Receives broadcasts shows whether broadcasts may be sent to that client. Both columns have a filter in the header. This instruction shows how to select clients with them, count unsubscribed clients and send a test broadcast to part of the base.
When You Need It
- You want to know how many clients in Telegram (or another channel) have unsubscribed from broadcasts.
- You want to send a test broadcast to 20–30 clients instead of the whole base.
- You want to see which channels a client has contacts in without expanding every row.
What You Should Know
- Channels — icons of every channel where the client has a contact. Hover over an icon to see the channel name; channels without their own icon (for example, Viber) are shown by name. The cell is empty when the client has no contacts.
- Receives broadcasts:
- ✓ — the client has a contact that accepts broadcasts;
- ✗ — the client has contacts, but none of them accepts broadcasts (the client unsubscribed);
- "—" — the client has no contacts.
- When the Channels filter is set, Receives broadcasts takes only the contacts in the selected channels into account. For example, a client unsubscribed in Telegram but still receives broadcasts in Viber: without a channel filter the cell shows ✓, with "Channels = Telegram" it shows ✗.
- The number of clients matching the filters is shown under the table: "1 - 20 of N", where N is the number of selected clients.
- Send To All in the Actions menu does not take the new filters into account — the broadcast goes to all clients, as before. To send only to the selected clients, tick the rows and use Send to selected.
- If you changed the set of table columns before, the new columns do not appear on their own — turn them on with the Columns button (see step 1).
Before You Start
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Find the Channels and Receives broadcasts columns in the table (they are placed before the actions column). If they are not there, click the Columns button above the table, tick both columns and click Save.
-
To select clients by channel, click the filter icon in the Channels header, choose one or more channels and click Apply. The table keeps the clients that have a contact in at least one of the selected channels.
-
To select by subscription, click the filter icon in the Receives broadcasts header and choose Yes, No or All.
-
Check the number of selected clients under the table — "… of N".
-
To remove a filter, open it again and click Clear.
Count clients who unsubscribed in Telegram
- In the Channels filter choose Telegram and click Apply.
- In the Receives broadcasts filter choose No.
- N in "… of N" under the table is the number of clients who have a Telegram contact but do not receive broadcasts there.
Send a test broadcast to part of the base
-
Select clients with the filters, for example Channels = Telegram and Receives broadcasts = Yes.
-
Tick the clients you need (for example, 20–30 rows). The selection is kept when you switch table pages.
-
Click Actions → Send to selected and continue as described in Send Broadcast to Selected Clients.
What Happens Next
The table shows only the clients matching all the filters, and the counter under it shows how many there are. A Send to selected broadcast goes only to the ticked clients and only to the contacts that accept broadcasts.
How to Verify Success
- Rows of the filtered table show the icon of the selected channel, and the Receives broadcasts column shows the value you chose in the filter.
- N under the table changed after you applied the filter.
- In the Send to selected broadcast window the number of clients matches the number of ticked rows.
