How to configure the widget in Settings

If chat on the site does not connect, start with the bot Widget tab: without an allowed origin the widget cannot connect. The full field catalog is in Widget settings parameters.

When you need this

  • Embed code is on the site, but the widget does not connect.
  • You need another origin (shop and www are different).
  • You need the appearance page and a fresh embed snippet.

Before you start

  • You have an active bot and permission to save bot settings.
  • You know the site origin: https://www.example.com (protocol, no trailing slash, no path).

Steps

  1. Open Menu → Settings → Bots → select a bot → Widget.
  2. In List of allowed domains for installing the widget, add the origin.
  3. Add each origin as its own row. https://shop.example.com and https://www.shop.example.com are different.
  4. Optionally paste an image URL in widget badge_url. That icon appears in the Operator Panel next to Widget-channel chats.
  5. Click Save config. The button stays disabled while any URL in the list is invalid.
  6. In Widget configuration page, click Go to, adjust appearance, and copy the embed code.

If the domain list was once saved as comma-separated text, save it again through this editor.

Custom JavaScript: Custom Widget JavaScript Code, button Open JavaScript Editor. Steps: How to use Custom Code. Colors: How to customize widget colors. Putting code on the site: How to connect the widget to a website.

The same origins can be saved in Scenario Builder → start step → Widget channel. Field labels there differ; the stored values are shared with the Widget tab.
