Custom dashboards in native statistics

On the Custom dashboards tab you build a dashboard from ready-made native statistics cards: only the metrics you need, on several tabs and in the order you want. The dashboard has the same filters as native statistics, and tables export to CSV/XLSX the same way.

When to use this

  • You need one page with key numbers from different native statistics tabs: requests, Fastline, quality, operators.
  • A manager or analyst needs a fixed set of metrics without extra cards.
  • You need to give a role access to a few metrics instead of all of native statistics.
  • You want the Instance Agent to build a dashboard from a text description.

What to know

  • The feature is enabled separately for each instance. It needs native statistics. If you do not see Custom dashboards, contact your administrator or ConnectiveOne support.
  • A dashboard is made of ready-made native statistics cards only. Your own queries, text blocks and headings on the canvas are not supported yet.
  • A card on a dashboard is a link to a native statistics card, not a copy. Its numbers, formulas and look are the same as on the native tab with the same filters.
  • You can put the same card on several tabs.
  • Everyone with the View right sees all custom dashboards of the instance. There are no rights for a single dashboard.
  • The Custom boards tab (Metabase) does not change and works as before. Custom dashboards is a separate section.
  • Limits: dashboard name up to 120 characters, tab name up to 60, up to 20 tabs per dashboard, up to 40 cards per tab.

Access rights

An administrator grants the rights in Settings → Roles → Statistics, row Custom dashboards. The role also needs access to the Statistics module.

Right What it gives
View Open saved dashboards, change filters, export tables. Only the data of cards placed on saved dashboards is visible
Save Everything View gives, plus creating, editing, renaming and deleting dashboards

Both rights are off by default.

Before you grant Save, keep in mind: an editor sees the catalog of all ready-made native statistics cards and can open the data of any of them. By putting a card on a dashboard, the editor opens its data to everyone with View. Native statistics data is not limited by role, skill group or operator.

Before you start

Steps: create a dashboard

  1. Open Menu → Statistics → Custom dashboards.
  2. Click Create dashboard (when there are no dashboards yet) or New dashboard.
  3. Enter a name, for example «Chat statistics», and confirm. The dashboard is created with one tab, «Tab 1», and opens in edit mode.
  4. To rename a tab, click the pencil next to its name.
  5. Click + Cards. The catalog of ready-made cards opens on the right, grouped by native statistics tabs (Requests, Fastline, Service quality, …).
  6. Find cards by name, tick them and click Add (n). The cards are added to the end of the active tab.
  7. To add another tab, click + Tab and repeat steps 4–6.
  8. Click Save.

Steps: change card order and size

  1. Open the dashboard and click Edit.
  2. To change the order, drag a card by its handle to a new place. Tabs can be dragged too.
  3. To change the size, open the size menu on the card:
    • width: ¼, ⅓, ½, ⅔ or full;
    • height: XS, S, M, L, XL or XXL. XS and S suit single-number cards.
  4. To remove a card from the tab, click ✕ on it. To delete a tab, click ✕ next to its name. If the tab has cards, you are asked to confirm.
  5. Click Save.

A new card gets the size closest to its size in native statistics.

Steps: view a dashboard and apply filters

  1. Open Menu → Statistics → Custom dashboards.
  2. Pick a dashboard in the list at the top and the tab you need.
  3. In the filter panel, set the period, time zone and other filters and click Apply. The panel shows only the filters used by the cards of the active tab.
  4. To export a table, click the export button on the card and choose CSV or XLSX.

Custom dashboard filters are remembered separately from native statistics filters.

Build a dashboard with the Instance Agent

The Instance Agent can build a dashboard from a text description, for example: «Build a dashboard "Quality" with a tab "CSAT and FCR": CSAT, FCR 24 and FCR 48».

  1. The agent finds the cards in the catalog of ready-made cards.
  2. Before creating the dashboard, the agent shows a consent card. The dashboard appears only after you confirm.
  3. The agent answers with a link to the new dashboard.

The agent acts with your rights: without Save it cannot create a dashboard or add cards.

What happens next

  • Everyone with View sees the saved dashboard right away.
  • If a card is later removed from native statistics or disabled on the instance, a grey «Card unavailable» tile takes its place. In edit mode you can remove it with ✕.

How to check it worked

  • Reload the page: tabs, card order and sizes are the same as you saved them.
  • Compare the number on a dashboard card with the same card on the native tab with the same filters. The numbers must match.

Possible issues

What you see What to do
«You have unsaved changes. Leave without saving?» You are leaving the page in edit mode. Cancel and click Save, or confirm if you do not need the changes
«Someone else has just changed this dashboard. Reload the page to see their version» Someone saved this dashboard before you. Your changes stay on screen until you reload. Note them, reload the page and repeat
No Custom dashboards item The feature is not enabled on the instance, or your role has neither View nor Save. Contact your administrator
No Edit and New dashboard buttons Your role has View only
