How to link Viber

To receive notifications in Viber, link Viber to your profile. After linking, you can choose Viber as a delivery channel for any notification type.

When it is useful

  • You want notifications on your phone via Viber.
  • You need alerts when you are not in the app.
  • You work from mobile devices.

What to know

  • A Viber bot must be configured by an administrator.
  • A deep link opens Viber to complete linking.
  • The system stores your Viber chat information for sending notifications.

Before you start

  • The Viber bot is configured by an administrator.
  • You can open Viber on your device.
  • You are logged in.

Steps

1. Open notification settings

Go to ProfileNotificationsChannels tab.

2. Find the Viber section

Scroll to Viber in the channel list.

3. Click connect

Click Log in with Viber next to Viber.

The system generates an authorization token and opens a deep link to the Viber bot.

Follow the deep link (new tab or Viber app).

5. Confirm linking in Viber

The bot saves your chat and links the channel. You may get a confirmation from the bot.

6. Return to the app

Go back and check the channel status.

7. Check status

Status should change to Connected.

If it does not update, click Check status or refresh the page.

Result

After a successful link you can:

  • Choose Viber as a delivery channel for any notification type
  • Receive Viber notifications when you are not in the app
  • Run a test with Test

Verification

  1. Click Test next to Viber.
  2. You should receive a test notification in Viber.
  3. If nothing arrives, check bot configuration or try unlinking and linking again.

Troubleshooting

Token is not generated

Issue: Log in with Viber fails or shows “Could not generate token”.

What to do:

  • Confirm the Viber bot is configured by an administrator.
  • Refresh the page and try again.
  • Ask your administrator to verify the channel configuration.

Status does not update

Issue: After the deep link, status does not show Connected.

What to do:

  • Click Check status or refresh the page.
  • Make sure you followed the deep link in Viber.
  • Check messages from the bot to confirm the chat was saved.

Notifications do not arrive

Issue: After linking, notifications do not arrive in Viber.

What to do:

  • Confirm Viber is selected as a channel for that notification type.
  • Run Test.
  • Confirm the Viber channel is configured on the bot by an administrator.
  • Try unlink and link again.
  1. Open settings → Channels tab.
  2. Find Viber.
  3. Click Disconnect.
  4. The channel is unlinked; you may still see it in settings until you refresh selections.
  5. To link again, repeat the steps above.
