# How to Copy a File Link?

When you need to quickly send a document to a client or paste a file into a scenario, message, or template, this instruction will help you copy a direct link to the file — right after upload or later from the list.

---

## When It Will Be Useful
- You just uploaded a file and want to share a link to it right away.
- You need to paste a document link into a reply to a client or into a template.
- You are building a scenario and need the file address for a send step.

---

## What's Important to Know
- **Link** — this is the direct address of the file that you can paste into a message, scenario, or template.
- You can copy a link in **two places**: in the upload window right after a successful upload, and from the file list at any time.
- The action is available if you have permission to manage files.

---

## Before You Start
- [x] You are logged into ConnectiveOne
- [x] You have access to the FileManager module

---

## How to Do It

### Right after upload
1. **Upload the file** — see [How to upload a new file](/en/filemanager/how-to/upload-file.md).
2. **Find the completed row** — in the upload window, a `Completed` badge appears next to the file.
3. **Click the "Copy" button** — the button with a copy icon next to the completed file.

### From the file list
1. **Open the File manager** — in the main menu go to `Menu -> File manager`.
2. **Find the file** — in the list or in the file card.
3. **Click the "Copy" button** — the button with a copy icon in the file card.

---

## What Happens After
The link is saved to your clipboard. You can now paste it (`Ctrl+V` or `Cmd+V`) into a message, scenario, template, or any other field.

---

## How to Verify Everything Worked
- The message `File link copied to clipboard` appears
- After pasting, you see the file address
- The link opens exactly that file

---

## Possible Issues
- **No copy button** — make sure you have permission to manage files.
- **Link is not available yet after upload** — copy it from the file list (see the section above).
