# How to Connect Facebook Messenger and Instagram to ConnectiveOne

Connect Facebook and Instagram pages to ConnectiveOne for processing client messages through these platforms.

---

## Prerequisites

1. Facebook business page and/or Instagram business page
2. Page administrator rights (People with Facebook access)
3. For simultaneous connection of Facebook Messenger and Instagram — pages must be linked to each other
4. For self-connection via the Meta window — the **Meta OAuth v2 (server-side)** toggle must be enabled on the instance (see below)

---

## Feature flag: Meta OAuth v2

Self-connection with the **Connect Facebook Page** button works when **Meta OAuth v2 (server-side)** is enabled on the instance.

### How to enable

1. Sign in as an instance administrator.
2. Go to **Settings → Feature Flags**.
3. In the integrations block, turn on **Meta OAuth v2 (server-side)**.
4. Save the changes. A server restart is **not** required.

| Toggle state | What the bot admin sees |
|--------------|-------------------------|
| On | **Connect Facebook Page** opens a Meta window; you can bind the page yourself. To unbind — **Disconnect** |
| Off | **Log in with Facebook** (classic sign-in). A new instance may still need a domain whitelist or ConnectiveOne help. To leave the Facebook account in this mode — **Log out** |

If **Meta OAuth v2 (server-side)** is missing or the button does not open a Meta window — contact ConnectiveOne representatives (required services may not be deployed on the instance yet).

---

## Connection Methods

1. **Self-connection** (recommended when Meta OAuth v2 is enabled) — connect the page in bot settings
2. **Adding KwizyBot to the page** — if self-connection is not available
3. **Providing login and password** — pass the data to a ConnectiveOne representative

---

## Method 1: Self-Connection

Requires **Meta OAuth v2 (server-side)** enabled (see [Feature flag](#feature-flag-meta-oauth-v2)).

**Important:** Simultaneous connection of Facebook Messenger and Instagram to one bot is only available for linked accounts.

### Step 1: Preparation

1. Make sure you have completed all prerequisites.
2. Sign in to ConnectiveOne with an account that has bot / instance admin rights.
3. Allow pop-ups for your ConnectiveOne instance (the browser may block the Meta window).

### Step 2: Authorization via Meta

1. Go to **Bot Settings** (or Facebook / Instagram channel settings) → select the required bot.
2. Click **Connect Facebook Page**.
3. In the Meta pop-up, sign in with the required account and grant access.
4. Select the Facebook pages (and Instagram if needed) and finish the Meta dialog.

### Step 3: Binding the page to the bot

1. If you have one page — it may bind automatically.
2. If you have several pages — click **Connect** next to the required page in the list.
3. Confirm that the status shows a successful connection. A full page reload is usually **not** required.
4. If needed, refresh the status in the Facebook connection block.

### Disconnect

Click **Disconnect** in the same settings — the page fully unbinds from the bot. You can reconnect the same way later.

### After Connection

Messages to the connected Facebook / Instagram pages are processed by the bot scenario they are bound to and can appear in the operator panel.

---

## Method 2: Adding KwizyBot to the Page

Use this if **Meta OAuth v2** is off or self-connection is not yet available on your instance.

When the toggle is off, the UI shows **Log in with Facebook** (classic sign-in). Self-connection via the Meta window is not available in this mode — use KwizyBot or share credentials with a ConnectiveOne representative.

### Step 1: Access Check

Make sure you have administrator rights to the page in the **People with Facebook access** section.

### Step 2: Adding KwizyBot

1. Go to the Facebook business page
2. Click on the profile photo in the upper right corner
3. Select the required account
4. Go to **Professional Dashboard**
5. In the **Your Tools** section, select **Page Access**
6. Click **Add New Person**
7. Enter `Kwizy Bot` in the search or go to the link: [facebook.com/KWEasyy](https://www.facebook.com/KWEasyy)
8. Grant access to the page (partial access is allowed)
9. Confirm the password
10. Verify that Kwizy Bot appears in **People with Facebook access**

### Step 3: Notifying Representatives

Send ConnectiveOne representatives the link to the page where you added Kwizy Bot so they can connect it to the platform.

---

## Method 3: Providing Login and Password

Send the login and password from the Facebook page to a ConnectiveOne representative for connection setup.

**Important:** For secure transfer, use the [share.dt.evergreen.team](https://share.dt.evergreen.team/) service.

## Common Issues

### Meta pop-up blocked

Allow pop-ups for your ConnectiveOne instance URL and click **Connect Facebook Page** again.

### Facebook returned no pages

Make sure your account has admin access to the required Page. If the page is in a Business Portfolio — contact ConnectiveOne support.

### Bot Not Found in Search (KwizyBot)

- Make sure you are entering the name, email, or link correctly
- Make sure you are not adding your own page
- Make sure the person has a public profile
- Make sure the page is not contained in Meta Business Suite → Settings → Pages
- Make sure the user is in your friends list, liked the business page, and left a message on it

If none of the methods work, try providing login and password or contact ConnectiveOne representatives.

### Password Confirmation Button is Inactive

Try performing the same steps from the Facebook mobile app or through the website on a mobile device.

### Two Factor Authentication Error

Enable [two-factor authentication](https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=7503126079741808) on your personal account and try disconnecting and connecting the bot again.

### Permissions Error

During self-connection, grant access to the required Instagram pages in the Meta window.

### Unknown JSSDK Domain

This error applies when **Meta OAuth v2** is **off** (the UI shows **Log in with Facebook**). Enable **Meta OAuth v2 (server-side)** and use [Method 1](#method-1-self-connection). If the toggle is unavailable — contact ConnectiveOne representatives (they will whitelist the instance or enable the new mode).

## Responding to Stories and Comments

To be able to see responses to stories, comments on posts, and other similar interactions, contact ConnectiveOne representatives.

## Files from Operator Line

By default, PDFs and other documents from Operator Line to Facebook Messenger are sent as a **link in the text**. To have customers receive them as Messenger attachments, a root administrator enables the option on the instance: [How to enable native files in Facebook Messenger](/en/operatorline/how-to/enable-facebook-native-file-attachments.md).
